Summer Conversations - woman with dog and flowers sculpture
There’s something wonderfully peaceful about a summer afternoon spent in good company.
Summer Conversations captures a gentle everyday moment – a woman relaxing on a garden bench with her basket of flowers, sharing a quiet chat with her faithful four-legged friend.
Handcrafted in my studio in mid Wales, this unique mixed-media sculpture is individually created using garden wire, foil, natural and recycled fabrics and a textile hardener called Paverpol. The basket was fun to make and the flowers were made with wire and enameling.
The relaxed pose, basket of flowers and affectionate interaction with her dog create a little story for the viewer to discover – perhaps a conversation about the day, the garden, or simply enjoying each other's company.
A charming piece for anyone who loves dogs, flowers, gardening and the simple pleasures of summer, and a lovely gift for a dog lover or someone who appreciates unique handmade sculpture.
